During the 1/28 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was revealed that Samoa Joe suffered a “non-contact” injury during training and is not cleared to compete.
The former AEW World Champion was a notable part of the title scene following Worlds End, which saw MJF win a four-way match that included Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Adam Page.
Joe defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey on the 1/12 edition of Dynamite, establishing himself as a potential contender moving forward for the title.
There is no timetable for his return as of this writing, as the company looks to establish a new No. 1 Contender at Grand Slam Australia to face MJF for the title at Revolution.
