In response to a fan on social media calling for a WWE return, Dustin Rhodes addressed his run with the company while noting where his current focus is on his career:
Nope! I never got a raise there. What, you want me sitting the bench doing nothing? That ain’t me anymore. I have done the best work of my career with [AEW]. I love the character Goldust, but he ran its course. I did what I was told and it got me nowhere. No thanks.
Rhodes, whose run as Goldust in WWE included multiple championship reigns, is currently under a long-term contract with AEW that includes in-ring competition and backstage contributions.
He has been out of action since undergoing a double knee surgery in the summer of 2025, and is targeting March 2026 for his return.
