Claudio Castagnoli’s reign as the CMLL World Champion has come to and end.
Hechicero defeated Castagnoli on Friday night to become the new champion.
According to F4WOnline, Hechicero kicked out of a neutralizer and then was able to avoid a low-blow by Castagnoli and having countered it with a headscissors slam. Hechicero to put Castagnoli in something resembling that of a Rings of Saturn, but Castagnoli refused to give up. Hechicero pressed his boot into the side of Castagnoli’s face, which then was enough to get the win.
This is Hechicero’s second reign as the CMLL World Heavyweight Champion. He first won the championship from Ultimo Guerrero back in October of 2018. Castagnoli won the title from Gran Guerrero back on November 28, 2025, ending Guerrero’s 1,118 day reign.
Hechicero is under a dual CMLL/AEW contract. It was announced this past Wednesday that Castagnoli is now also under a dual CMLL/AEW contract.
