Rebel responds to AEW and fan support after Collision

During Saturday night’s live episode of Collision, AEW took time out to show their support for Rebel, who last week revealed a terminal ALS diagnosis.

After a commercial break, the cameras focused on the broadcast team of Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness. Schiavone said that Rebel is a big part of AEW and the company is thinking about her and praying for her. He also pointed out that there were a lot of signs in the crowd from fans showing their support.

“We want Rebel to know you are a big part of AEW. We are thinking about you right now. We are praying for you that you will pull through this. We got a lot of signs in the stands here tonight that says ‘Rebel, we love you. We pray for Rebel,’ and we certainly do agree with that as well.”

Rebel posted to Instagram, thanking her AEW family and Tony Schiavone. McGuinness also reposted Rebel’s massage to his own Instagram account.

May is ALS awareness month.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord to deteriorate and die. This leads to muscle weakness, atrophy, and eventual paralysis, impacting mobility, speech, swallowing, and breathing, with most people living 3–5 years after symptom onset.
