AAA

AAA Stars Heading to TNA
This past weekend Konnan confirmed that AAA would be sending a heavyweight, a tag team, & a woman to Orlando, FL for a set of PPV tapings for TNA next weekend. That confirms Team AAA for the “World Cup of Wrestling” Tournament that TNA will be doing that weekend, but then Konnan confirmed to me (via Twitter) that AAA will only be sending ONE wrestler at all to TNA for the show “due to Visa issues.” This sounds like a complete and utter disaster for TNA, it’s going to be a bit hard for them to have a “Team Mexico” with only one Mexican luchador (as long as the one that AAA is sending doesn’t end up being Jack Evans which would be even more disastrous). It may be time for AAA and TNA just to end this relationship as it doesn’t seem to be accomplishing much for TNA in any shape.

AAA Signs Joint Venture For U.S. Expansion
This week AAA announced that they have signed a joint venture with American company FactoryMade Ventures. The primary goal for this venture will be expansion into the United States with live events, new television programming (live events and reality), PPVs, and merchandising. We can only pray that this means AAA will FINALLY release DVDs on their catalog of video in America. FactoryMade is behind the creation of Hasbro Films that released Transformers, GI Joe, Battleship, and other films. Interestingly enough Robert Rodriguez co-owns FactoryMade Ventures, and AAA programming is expected to be a part of Rodriguez’s new “El Rey Network” which will be an English language cable network which is going to try to appeal to Latino-Americans with its programming. Comcast is working with Rodriguez on this network and it will likely (unfortunately) be carried on Comcast systems which means me and many others won’t get a chance to see it.
