The Return of CHIKARA?
In an oddly bizarre turn of events this weekend “CHIKARA” ran an event in Philadelphia at a skate park and streamed it on Ustream. There was really no mention anywhere about the except for apparently on CHIKARA fan forums and barely any mention of it on any websites after the fact. PWInsider is claiming that it was a “gorilla” show put on by the CHIKARA wrestlers. At the event there was a trios match and during it a “fan” was abducted by Condor Security “kidnapped” him. The fan was someone that has been posting things on the CHIKARA101 fan board about CHIKARA’s return and such. The match at the event was a trios between Icarus, assailANT, and Hallowicked against Los Ice Creams and Kobald. Other CHIKARA stars were present there as well. Everything is just bizarre and confusing to me, and if this whole thing has been an angle since the “close” of CHIKARA then it is either the worst angle in the history of wrestling or just simply going over my head. I mean how can you get any buzz about an angle like that when it’s barely mentioned. No one is talking about CHIKARA, or not many are, anymore. I just don’t get this, why would you do an angle where maybe (and I’m being generous here) 100 people will know about it from the message boards. If anyone can explain to me I’d be happy to listen, or maybe is just the old CHIKARA stars trying their best to make something out of the ashes of CHIKARA. I’m pretty sure CHIKARA’s wrestling school is still open for business however.
