OH WRESTLEVIEWNIVERSE, DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR LOCALLY WORLD FAMOUS SMACKDOWN REVIEW, AND FEEL THE POWWWAAAAAAH!

Hello and welcome to another edition of Layin’ The Smarkdown, the only Smackdown review on the Internet that promises to solve the mysteries of life, love, and sports entertainment. We’re in the express lane on the Road to Wrestlemania, and thus this is your go-home show before WWE Fastlane!

Opening Match: As much fun and excitement as you can expect from all six guys, this was a fun way to kick off the show. You get a sense that things are really heating up heading into Fastlane, and this match helped show what everyone is capable of.

Tamina/Banks: Great match from Tamina and Sasha here, a little short but effective to give an idea of what to expect come Sunday. Nice work with the emphasis on the reluctance partnership between Sasha and Becky, as well.

Miz/Jericho: I really enjoyed the banter between Miz and Jericho in the pre-match promo, and the match itself was a lot of fun. Is it annoying to see the same guys wrestle each other so often? A little, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to build a feud. Miz is a great foil for AJ Styles and Chris Jericho, so it’s been nice to see him involved in something like this. Great post-match as well, as we get the “rubber match” between Styles and Jericho for Fastlane!

Reigns/Ambrose Segment: Good stuff backstage, as we’re reminded of Dean teasing the Dirty Deeds on Reigns and how that affects their friendship going into Fastlane on Sunday. I liked the follow up with Heyman, who informed Ambrose that the Beast was basically on the hunt.

New Day Segment: Fun little segment, as we get an interesting setup for Sunday’s interview with Edge and Christian. Should be entertaining, to say the least.

Natalya/Charlotte: Hey, here’s a rare little treat! Not one but TWO Divas matches on the same show!? I quite enjoyed this match as well, good action from both women. Some good matches to be seen this Sunday at Fastlane, and I’m actually looking forward to where the Divas division goes from here.

Truth/Goldust Segment: I don’t know how much longer this angle is gonna go, but at least we’re getting some funny segments out of it. I realize this is a rehash of Booker T and Goldust, but that was fun…so this can’t be too bad, can it?

Other Notes: I’m actually looking forward to the six man tag at Fastlane, because I generally enjoy watching the Wyatt Family. Also, the Vincent J. McMahon award is almost certainly an excuse for The Authority to sing Triple H’s praises some more, but hey.

Main Event: Great tag match between the former Shield and the Dudley Boyz. The Dudleys held true to their promise of “no more tables,” and played great heels against Reigns and Ambrose. Really enjoyed the presence of Brock Lesnar to lead into the finish, and Brock standing tall definitely puts some doubt as to who will come out on top at Fastlane. Great ending with a staredown on the champ.

Well, that does it for this week! What did you think of Smackdown? Are you excited for Fastlane, as we continue the road to Wrestlemania? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @Power2TheSmarks! Until next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
