WWE returning to Madison Square Garden; WWE reportedly sets a big record at MSG

Last night at during the Friday Night Super SmackDown event at Madison Square Garden, WWE announced they will be returing to the venue for their annual post-Christmas event on Sunday, December 26.

Last year’s traditional event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pre-Sales through Ticketmaster for the December show began late Friday night with the pre-sale code of “HOLIDAY”

According to Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani, last night’s WWE Super SmackDown live from Madison Square Garden on FOX, produced the highest-grossing gate for SmackDown of all-time. 

During last night’s show, Michael Cole announced a sell out crowd of 14,425. We had reported earlier that WrestleTix indicated they will go over ticket counts again due to a discrepancy, and said the attendance is closer to 13,000, and definitely not the number announced by Cole.
