IMPACT Wrestling News: Tommy Dreamer update; Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis

IMPACT Wrestling News

According to a report from Fightful Select, Tommy Dreamer is said to be back working with IMPACT Wrestling.

Dreamer was working behind-the-scenes and as a talent for IMPACT Wrestling, but then was suspended back in September following comments he made on the Dark Side of The Ring series episode about the 2002 “Plane Ride from Hell” with several WWE talent.

The report further noted Dreamer was said to have made his return at a recent set of TV tapings as an agent and producer and was not used as an on-air talent role.

Fightful Select further noted that there was initially heat on Dreamer for his Dark Side of The Ring comments. However, there is now a feeling with IMPACT Wrestling officials that his “punishment fit the offense”.

Dreamer did apologize for his comments after airing of the episode.

According to a new report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mike Bennett and his real-life wife Maria Kanellis are reportedly returning to Impact Wrestling.

Bennett recently pulled out of a January independent show, as it was said that the promoter was told there was a scheduling conflict with a set of IMPACT tapings.

Both Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis are currently free agents, as they were under a contract with ROH, which is now on a hiatus until April 2022. The couple had previously worked for IMPACT Wrestling from January 2016 to March 2017. Mike is a one-time X Division Champion, and Maria is a one-time Knockouts Champion.

IMPACT recently released their pay-per-view and television taping schedule for January through April 2022.
