Big Title Change During Night One of WrestleMania 38

Bianca Belair is your new WWE Raw Women’s Champion.

During Night One of WrestleMania 38, Belair defeated Becky Lynch to become the new Raw Women’s Champion.

This is Belair’s first reign as the Raw Women’s Champion. Lynch became the Raw Women’s Champion back on the October 22, 2021 episode of WWE SmackDown after a championship exchange segment with Charlotte Flair, who in turn received the SmackDown Women’s Title. The exchange was done due to two women’s switching brands as a result of the Draft.

Lynch had originally won the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Belair at last year’s SummerSlam in Las Vegas, when she made her return after being on maternity leave. Lynch captured the title in 26 seconds. Lynch held the Raw Women’s Title for 161 days.

Below is an excerpt from Mike Tedesco’s WrestleMania 38 Night One recap of how it all went down.

Lynch knocks her back and hits the ropes, but Belair hits a spinebuster. Belair goes for a splash, but Lynch gets the knees up. Belair counters a Dis-Arm-Her and rolls her up for a two count. Belair fights and goes for a KOD, but Lynch holds the top rope. Belair then flips her over the top rope to the floor! Belair goes after her, but Lynch fights back and pulls her into the ring post. Lynch follows up with a Manhandle Slam onto the steel steps. The referee starts counting, but Belair somehow gets in at nine! Lynch immediately covers her for a near fall!

Lynch is incredulous and looks desperate. Lynch clubs away at Belair and starts to pull her up to her feet. Belair is dead weight. Lynch goes for a Manhandle Slam, but Belair lands on the second rope and flips over her! Belair lifts Lynch and connects with the KOD for the victory! Becky Lynch has been defeated!
