Top tag team reportedly removed AEW’s upcoming video game

According to Fightful Select, current ROH, NJPW and AAA World Tag Team Champions – FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) are not scheduled to be a part of the first version of the AEW: Fight Forever video game.

The report indicates that sources they heard from “wouldn’t confirm how far into the game FTR was still included, It was further said FTR first gained word earlier this summer.”

It was also said that FTR at least made it to the “model phase” of the game. FTR was reportedly also told of the decision and were not happy about the decision, as being involved in video games usually has a significant bonus in pay.

We reported this past Saturday that AEW: Fight Forever has already won an award. During the Gamescom awards, AEW: Fight Forever won the award for “Best Sports Game.” AEW: Fight Forever beat out GOAL! The Club Manager, and Ultimechs.

The game by THQ Nordic is available for presale now at Amazon, Target and Sony, for PC, Playstation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch, X Box One and X Box Series. It retails for $59.99. The scheduled release date for the game December 31, 2022.
