CM Punk, Kenny Omega and Young Bucks removed from AEW Dynamite opening

CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks were removed from the AEW Dynamite opening on Wednesday and were not even mentioned by the commentary team at the opening of the show.

A video package showing MJF returning at All Out on Sunday did not feature any images or references to CM Punk or Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Following the video package, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan announced that the AEW World and Trios Titles never mentioning Punk, Omega, or The Young Bucks by name. A match to determine the new Trios Champions took place during the show. A tournament to crown a new AEW World Champion also began on Wednesday’s show. The final match to determine the winner will take place at AEW Dynamite Gram Slam in Queens, NY on September 23.

The backstage altercation was not addressed on Wednesday’s Dynamite. The company has still yet to make an official statement regarding the status of Ace Steel, CM Punk, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, who were all said to have been involved in the altercation.
