According to PWInsider, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch, under her real name of Rebecca Quinn, will be playing pop music star Cyndi Lauper in the third season premiere episode of “Young Rock.”
The report notes the plot for this first episode of the new season – set in 1985, deals with a party Lauper throws around Wrestlemania 1. Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Vince McMahon, ‘Captain’ Lou Albano and Liberace will also be portrayed in the episode as well.
Lauper was a celebrity guest at WWF WrestleMania I. She accompanied Wendi Richter to the ring for her Women’s Title Match against Leilani Kai.
It was further noted when the series was being cast, Lauper was listed as a possible recurring character, so this may not be Lynch’s only appearance on the show.
After previously airing on Tuesday night’s, NBC has now moved “Young Rock” to Friday night’s at 8:30 pm ET, going up against a part of WWE SmackDown.
The third season premiere episode “The People Need You” will air this Friday on NBC.
