Peoria Civic Center issues statement on fan tossing beverage at Scarlett during WWE house show

During last Saturday night’s WWE house show event held at the Peoria Civic Center, a fan tossed an alcoholic beverage at Scarlett during the match between Karion Kross and Drew McIntyre.

There was a part during the match, where to get heat, Scarlett slapped Drew while the referee was distracted. It was after the slap, a woman seated in the third row threw an entire plastic cup of an alcoholic beverage at Scarlett, splashing her.

The fan and her family were removed from the arena by security. Local police were also called to arena.

Beau Sutherland, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Peoria Civic Center gave the following statement to CIProud.com.

“We are aware of the incident that took place at the WWE event on Saturday, November 12. Fortunately, our Peoria Civic Center security team along with the Peoria Police quickly identified the individuals responsible and escorted them out of the building for the remainder of the show. While we were disappointed in the actions of a couple and the brief distraction they caused, over 4,000 enthusiastic WWE fans were treated to a very entertaining event.”

It was also noted in the report that as per Peoria Police no charges were filed, nor were any arrests made. Peoria Civic Center general manager Rik Edgar said the event had the highest gross sales for any WWE show in Civic Center history.
