Austin Theory is the new WWE United States Champion.
Theory defeated Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in a three-way to win the Championship for a second time at Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames event.
Rollins had held the U.S. Title for 47 days, defeating Lashley on the October 10 episode of Monday NightRaw.
Below is an excerpt from Roy Nemer’s Survivor Series recap of how it all went down.
Seth with a right hand onto Theory. Seth goes for a neck breaker but Theory gets out of it. Theory goes for a pedigree but Seth gets him on his shoulders. Theory lands on his feet as Lashley grabs Theory and Seth and gets them in the Hurt Lock. Lashley is crushed into the corner. Seth with a super kick onto Lashley. Seth with a right hand to Theory’s neck. Seth goes for the stomp as he runs, jumps off Theory and stomps Lashley. He throws Theory on the ring apron but Theory with a right hand. Theory climbs the top rope but Seth climbs the top rope and a superplex by Seth. He goes for the falcon arrow but Lashley spears Seth as Theory lands on top of Seth. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
