According to F4WOnline AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega’s contract with the company has been extended due to injury time. However, it’s not known as of this writing how long the his contract has been extended for.
Omega was out of action for from November 2021 through August 2022, due to a shoulder injury, a hernia, vertigo and a leg/knee injure that all required both surgery and rehab.
The report also notes Omega’s contract was set to expire on January 31, 2023. He originally signed a four-year deal which began on back February 1, 2019, without an extension option. However, it was further said that Omega’s contract did have an injury clause which enabled Tony Khan to extend it out.
Furthermore the report also notes that the amount of time being added to Omega’s deal “hasn’t been finalized.” There is also said to be some uncertainty whether additional time could be added to his current contract due to his suspension following the backstage fight which took place at All Out media scrum last September.
During a post-match segment with the Young Bucks and Omega that aired on Friday night’s Rampage, the House of Black appeared at ringside after the lights in the arena went off. The the lights went off again. When they came back on, the House of Black were gone. The Elite will defend the Trio Titles against House of Black at next Sunday’s Revolution PPV.
