AEW to debut in San Diego; note on Powerhouse Hobbs wining TNT Title

AEW has announced they will make their San Diego, California, debut on May 31.

The live Double or Nothing fallout episode of Dynamite and Rampage taping will take place from the 12,000 plus seat Viejas Arena.

Tickets are set to go on sale next Friday, beginning at 10:00 am PT.

According to Fightful Select Select, there was a tentative plan in place for Powerhouse Hobbs to win the TNT Championship, going back several months. The report also that far back as last fall, AEW had Hobbs set for a big push, and putting the TNT Championship on him was always the plan.

Hobbs defeated Wardlow to win the title on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in a Falls Count Anywhere Last Man Standing Match, with an assist from QT Marshall.

Wardlow had won the title from Samoa Joe on this past Sunday’s AEW Revolution PPV.
