WWE reportedly registers with the Indiana Gambling Commission

A report on Wednesday from CNBC stated WWE met with regulators in Colorado and Michigan regarding gambling for legalizing betting on high-profile matches.

On Thursday, CNBC updated their report to confirm WWE has already registered with the Indiana Gaming Commission for the legalization of betting on matches.

The Colorado Division of Gaming stated to CNBC it is currently not considering legalizing betting on WWE matches. The organization noted the state of Colorado has a statute that prohibits gambling on predetermined contests such as awards shows.  WWE executives have reportedly proposed that in order to allow for legalized wagering. It is being said the match results would be “locked in” months ahead of time and prevented from leaking to the public. The WWE Superstars involved would not be informed of a match’s result until shortly before it takes place.

If the Michigan Gaming Control Board approves legalizing betting on WWE matches that information will be made public through the organization’s Sports Wagering Catalog

WWE has hired the accounting firm, Ernest & Young pertaining to securing match results and demonstrating to regulators that gambling on predetermined contests can be done safely. Ernest & Young already works to secure results for predetermined contests such as the Academy Awards.
