Gunther has made history yet again in WWE. He is now the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion since 1988, currently at 281 days and counting.
This past February, Gunther made history with a new record in WWE by becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion since the turn of the millennium, over two decades ago.
The Honky Tonk Man still holds the record for the longest-running title reign with the IC Title at 454 days. However, Gunther has now passed Kurt Angle, Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Randy Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho, and more, becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in over 30 years.
