Former NJPW referee announces he has joined NXT

Former NJPW referee Jeremy Marcus has joined WWE NXT’s officiating staff.

Marcus announced on Instagram that he is now part of the NXT officiating crew. He went on to say that he is honored to be a part of the hard-working crew. Marcus also included images of himself pictured with other NXT referees.

According to Fightful and F4WOnline, he worked the NXT house show held at the Sanford Civic Center Saturday night in Sanford, Florida. As of this writing, it is unclear when Marcus will begin working on NXT TV. He did give a plug to NXT and the UsA Network in his post.

F4WOnline did note that prior to joining NXT, Marcus worked in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling of America office in California and was a regular referee for NJPW Strong shows in the United States. He also refereed at Wrestle Kingdom 17 this past January. He was also the referee for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship main event match between Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi, which took place at the Battle in the Valley PPV in San Jose, CA last month.
