As first reported by PWInsider Elite and then F4WOnline, WWE Supserstar Drew McIntyre’s with the company is said to be in its final year. It was also said that both sides are not close to a new deal.
It was further noted that McIntyre’s contract is not up immediately, so there is time for both sides to come to an agreement if they want to negotiate and move forward.
McIntyre is scheduled to challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Gunther in a Triple Threat on WrestleMania 39 Night Two.
McIntyre made his return to WWE in 2017 after he spent several years on the independent scene and in IMPACT Wrestling, after his release from WWE in 2014. He was featured in the main event of Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales which took place this past September. At the event, he was unsuccessful in capturing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns.
He is a former NXT Champion, WWE Intercontinental Champion and two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion. As Drew Galloway, he held the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
