Backstage news on the return of Miro and Thunder Rosa, Collision

According to a report from Fightful Select, the surprise returns of Miro and Thunder Rosa during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, is all tied to the new upcoming AEW Collision show, which is expected to premiere on TNT in June. Fightful Select further noted that both Miro and Rosa will be included on the Collision roster.

AEW CEO and President Tony Khan appeared on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite to say that there will be a huge announcement next week on TNT.

Fightful Select in a separate report also indicated that AEW has major plans and a huge marquee type match tentatively scheduled for the premiere of Collision. It is said that CM Punk is pushing for a huge match for his return.

Fightful Select also notes that the rumored roster split is not expected to be a hard brand split for Collision, but a fresh roster start with some talents that have been sidelined. The talent that has been on sidelines also per the report have stated they have not been told they are being booked for the new show, but believe that they will be at some point.

It is said that AEW has several Saturday dates set aside for Collision. However, Fightful Select further stated when necessary, AEW might book the same venue for two straight nights – for the live Dynamite, to tape Rampage and then on a Thursday to tape Collision, rather than go live on Saturday.

The same new report also notes that Warner Bros. Discovery airing Collision in primetime on TNT is part of a TV deal between AEW and WBD. There has been several rumors making the rounds that this is five-year – $5 billion dollar deal. This has yet to be confirmed, if true. The report concluded by noting that WBD sources have indicated that the official announcement regarding Collision is planned for next week’s upcoming Upfronts next Wednesday, which is the same day as Tony Khan’s huge announcement.

The Upfronts will take place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Wednesday, May 17.
