WWE NXT media call notes: updates on talent, whether NXT will continue head-to-head shows with AEW

In a conference call with the media to promote NXT Battleground, Shawn Michaels addressed a number of topics including updates on various talent and the situation with when NXT airs its specials.

Of note, Michaels has said there are some great matches left for Bron Breakker in NXT, and that he will be a part of the brand for a while.

Michaels also addressed the status of Blair Davenport and the Dyad (Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid). Michaels said they are interested in having Davenport back in NXT, and that there are no hard feelings regarding the Dyad requesting their release but wants them to be in a prominent role while they are still in NXT.

Michaels also said that NXT will not be going head-to-head with AEW pay-per-views again to the best of his knowledge, though he does note that the decisions are not made by him. The timing on NXT Battleground was, according to Michaels, simply to take advantage of the holiday weekend and having Night of Champions the day before.
