Rollins defeated AJ Styles in the tournament finals at Saturday’s Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Below is an excerpt from Mike Tedesco’s Night of Champions recap of how it all went down:
Styles goes to the ropes and knocks Rollins back. Styles goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Rollins superkicks him out of midair! Rollins goes for a Stomp, but his injured knee buckles. Styles goes for a Calf Crusher, but Rollins gets out and hits a Pedigree! Rollins gets a head of steam and hits Styles with a huge Stomp! Rollins covers, and the referee counts to three, making Rollins the first-ever World Heavyweight Champion!
