Court denies WWE motion to dismiss lawsuit by MLW

A ruling was made on June 15 through the United States District Court, denying WWE’s motion to dismiss an amended version of a lawsuit brought against the company by MLW.

As reported by PWInsider Elite, the 14-page document covers many points of the motion by WWE, including statistics and figures regarding revenue share and viewership, ultimately concluding that:

Accordingly, the Court finds that MLW has sufficiently alleged circumstantial evidence of WWE’s monopoly power.

The amended lawsuit against WWE alleged violations of the Sherman Antitrust act as the U.S. market for professional wrestling media content, whereas the initial suit focused on the pro wrestling market itself.

With the motion to dismiss being denied, the lawsuit looks to move forward and potentially go to trial.
