As first reported on Wrestling Observer Radio, then confirmed by Fightful, former WWE Superstar Carlito has pulled out of multiple upcoming independent wrestling bookings.
It was further noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Carlito had an independent show on July 15 for Devon Nicholson in Canada, and he called him up to cancel and said that he has signed with WWE.
Carlito made a surprise appearance at WWE’s Backlash premium live event back on May 6 in his home of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He assisted Bad Bunny in defeating Damian Priest in the San Juan Street Fight. Prior to Backlash, Carlito made an appearance in the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble. He is a former WWE Tag Team, Intercontinental, and United States Champion.
Fightful also noted that footage of Carlito’s appearance at WWE Backlash had garnered over three million views on social media.
Carlito had been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida earlier this month.
