Notes on attendance figures for WWE Money in the Bank

At the beginning of Saturday’s Money in the Bank premium live event and during the show, Michael Cole noted on commentary that the O2 Arena (in London, England), was sold out with 18,167 fans in attendance.

According to WrestleTix, the total amount of tickets distributed was actually 17,617.

During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque said that the event was the highest-grossing arena event in WWE history. He also said that Friday’s WWE SmackDown, which was also held at The O2 Arena was the highest-grossing SmackDown in company history.

Levesque further noted that WWE drew more than 37,000 fans to the O2 Arena over the two nights. He also went on to say that with Money in the Bank, the company set new records in the areas of sponsorship, merchandise sales, viewership and social media engagement.
