Backstage WWE news on conflicting reports of the creative direction for Charlotte Flair

There has been several conflicting reports over the past few days regarding WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair and what the company considered for her creatively going into Money in the Bank.

PWInsider Elite last Friday said there was a creative pitch made that would have seen Flair replace Zelina Vega in the Women’s Money In the Bank Ladder Match. Then in an updated report, it was noted the word coming out of Money in the Bank was the decision remained up in the air as WWE officials were still considering the change as late as after the event went on the air. The original WWE source reiterated the report and did confirm Flair was backstage at The O2 Arena in London in case she was needed and that WWE kept her hidden.

Now as of July 3, Fightful Select is reporting that have heard nothing on Flair being added to the match before Money in the Bank. Fightful Select also noted that after MITB their WWE source said there was not serious consideration given to the idea and that the creative plans for Flair has been planned for a while.

Fightful Select concluded by noting that Flair’s creative plans with Bianca Belair and Asuka was discussed and decided on a while before Flair returned on the June 9 episode of WWE SmackDown. Reportedly, the idea was to re-establish Asuka, and have her involved with two top WWE Superstars that are chasing her for the championship. WWE has decided to go this direction so they can add more intrigue and suspense to Asuka’s title reign.

F4WOnline reported on Sunday, that Flair vs. Belair vs. Asuka for the WWE Women’s Title is already planned for SummerSlam on Saturday, August 5, which will take place live from Ford Field in Detroit.
