Possible mystery partner teased for AEW Blood & Guts match

More and more details have been coming out regarding the upcoming Blood & Guts Match, slated for the 7/19 edition of AEW Dynamite in Boston.

On the 7/5 edition of Dynamite it was confirmed on commentary that the match would be five-on-five, with both The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club (alongside Konosuke Takeshita) having a mystery partner on their respective squads.

After the Rampage taping that same night, Kenny Omega grabbed a microphone and sent a message to the live crowd, teasing the identity of The Elite’s mystery partner for the upcoming match.

“Now you guys listen to this. There was a week when my whereabouts were unknown. I didn’t stay home. I didn’t go to Canada. I went to recruit an old friend, somebody who’s very near and dear to my heart.

I’ve got no doubt in my mind that as much as he cares about me, he cares about the men in this ring, he cares about this promotion, he cares about changing the face of professional wrestling. At Blood and Guts in two weeks, there is no way we lose.”

There is quite a bit of speculation as to who this mystery partner may be, with many pointing to Kenny’s former tag partner Kota Ibushi, but nothing further on this or on the Blackpool Combat Club’s mystery partner has been confirmed as of time of writing.
