Tyler Breeze returns to in-ring action, wins Next Generation Wrestling Tennessee Title

Tyler Breeze stepped back into the ring and wrestled his first match in two years on Saturday at the Next Generation Wrestling Tennessee event.

Breeze wrestled Matt Cross at the event and defeated him to become the new Next Generation Wrestling Tennessee Champion.

Breeze’s last wrestling appearance came just over two years ago on NXT where he and Fandango (now IMPACT Wrestling star Dirty Dango) defeated Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser. Two weeks after the match took place, Breeze was released from WWE.

Over the past few weeks, there has been various reports which have said that despite his release from WWE, all this time, Breeze has been on the company’s payroll and is under a deal to only make appearances on the YouTube show UpUpDownDown show with Xavier Woods. While other reports have said Breeze just recently returned to WWE specifically appear on the YouTube show with Woods.

Some of the same reports have said Breeze’s WWE contract does not include any wrestling-related restrictions. Fightful Select had previously noted that Breeze could only be restricted from making appearances for AEW.

Breeze co-owns the Flatbacks Wrestling School with AEW star Shawn Spears. Breeze is also currently listed with WWE as a trainer and coach for the Performance Center.

Breeze is set to debut at the Prestige Wrestling Roseland 6 event at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon on Friday, September 1.
