WWE has officially announced that Wes Lee will defend the NXT North American Championship at the Great American Bash.
Mustafa Ali will attempt to dethrone Lee and become the new champion. Ali had issued a challenge to Lee on last week’s NXT, after he defeated Tyler Bate.
Ali was not drafted to either Raw or SmackDown during the 2023 draft and is considered to be a “free agent.” As a free agent, he can show up on any of WWE’s TV shows.
The NXT Great American Bash will take place live on Sunday, July 30 and emanate from the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas.
You can watch the event live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else, beginning at 8:00 pm ET.
We had reported last Thursday that Baron Corbin is expected to remain part of the NXT brand for the foreseeable future.
The 38-year-old Corbin was featured in a video on this past Tuesday’s taped episode of NXT, in which he shown burning several items related to his past gimmicks. He said that “It’s time for no gimmicks, no-nonsense, and no bull—-.”
More main roster Superstar are expected to be regulars on NXT television. The Judgment Day will be appearing on this Tuesday’s NXT, due to Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams inviting the group to the show.
