As of time of writing we are but a day away from IMPACT Wrestling’s anniversary spectacular, appropriately named Slammiversary (which you can still order on FITE for $39.99), and a report from PWInsider has indicated that a former WWE Superstar is expected to be backstage to cheer on an old friend.
According to the report, Mercedes Mone’ (formerly Sasha Banks in WWE) is set to be in attendance at the pay-per-view event on 7/15, with the belief that she will be there to support Trinity as she challenges Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship.
Mone’ was previously present for Trinity’s IMPACT debut in April, and Trinity supported Mone in her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Mone’ is still out with an ankle injury sustained at NJPW STRONG Resurgence in May, and a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates that a timetable for her return is unclear, but there are plans for her to face Giulia for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship when she is cleared to compete again.
