Tribal Combat for Undisputed WWE Universal Title Set For SummerSlam

Tribal Combat has been made official for WWE SummerSlam 2023.

During the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, featuring Tribal Court, Jey Uso challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, after Jimmy was taken out by Reigns and Solo Sikoa.

On this Friday night’s show, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso set the Rules of Engagement for the championship match at SummerSlam. Jey tore up the contract which had been written for the match and then revealed the Elders of the tribe suggested that the match take place under Tribal Combat – No Disqualification.

Reigns and Jey agreed to the match stipulation. Reigns then symbolically placed the lei representative of his status as Tribal Chief on to the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

SummerSlam 2023 will take place on Saturday, August 5 and emanate from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The event will stream live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else.

Jey Uso became the first WWE Superstar to pin Roman Reigns in nearly four years, which took place back at Money in the Bank on July 1 in London.
