According to a report from TMZ Sports, the Executive Chairman of WWE underwent major surgery last week in relation to a spinal issue.
The procedure, lasting “over four hours” according to sources cited in the report, was deemed a success, and McMahon is currently recovering.
It is unclear what this means for McMahon going forward, particularly in light of reports of his continued involvement with WWE creative despite stating he’d take a less hands-on approach after his return to the Board of Directors in January.
McMahon retired as CEO last July amid allegations of misconduct, but his return brought about a role in spearheading a merger between WWE and UFC, forming a $21 billion company called TKO Group Holdings.
