Report: There is belief within AEW that CM Punk and Jack Perry are suspended

There is a possibility that CM Punk could miss this Sunday’s All In pay-per-view in Chicago.

According to F4WOnline on Monday, the belief within AEW is both Punk and Jack Perry have been suspended pending an investigation into their physical altercation between the two at the All In PPV this past Sunday.

The report also notes that new details regarding the backstage incident a Wembley Stadium have become available on Monday.

F4WOnline also indicates per a report from Nick Hausman, Punk left the venue that night on his own accord and not after having been asked to do so, which also has been reported elsewhere. In addition, the report further states that Perry walked up to Punk backstage and Punk asked him if they “have a problem.” Perry then alleged to have said “Do something about it,” which then lead to Punk putting Perry in a front face lock.

It was further said the chokehold was done as a way to neutralize the situation, as he’s a trained fighter and did not want to have to fight Perry. No punches were thrown. However, that was not fully confirmed.

F4WOnline also notes in their report, according to PWTorch, an AEW source is stating that Perry is likely to receive much more blowback from the incident than Punk will. The Torch also said there was a second AEW source close to management that believes Perry, in this situation, will end up with more of the blame than Punk because he initiated the situation with his comments on live TV during his match on Sunday, since he should have known it would cause an issue.

During the AEW All In London Media Scrum, CEO, President and General Manager Tony Khan confirmed a backstage incident took place at the pay-per-view. Khan said that he could not comment on the situation. He did say, however, that it is being investigated.

Soon after the news broke, Miro took to social media, and said the reports about the backstage physical altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry were “fake and untrue.”

According to various media outlets, it was confirmed Miro did witness the incident.

This all stems from an incident which took place backstage at an episode of Collision where Perry had wanted to use real glass for a spot and Punk advised against it, apparently saying that is not how things are done on Saturday night’s.

We will continue provide more information on this story as it becomes available.
