EC3 is open to CM Punk coming to the NWA: ‘Our locker room has a more professional atmosphere’

With CM Punk gone from AEW after being terminated with cause per AEW’s official press release and a statement from Tony Khan kicking off the 9/2 edition of Collision, there has been quite the speculation on where the former AEW World Champion could head next should he continue wrestling.

Speaking to Bill Apter and Dr. Chris Featherstone on the most recent episode of Sportskeeda’s UnSKripted, new NWA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 talked about Punk being welcome to the NWA locker room and what it could look like to defend the title against him, stating:

“Obviously, CM Punk, Chicago ties with Billy Corgan so that would be a fantastic challenger. There is a lot of speculation and roundabout talking about the dealings with him and his previous employer, whatever. What I do think about him is that he is dynamite in the ring and dynamite on the microphone. We can definitely draw a lot of intrigue and I’d be into it. Throwing that out there, to have him come in, would be a game changer.

Our locker room has a more professional atmosphere sometimes, so I don’t think the shenanigans and tomfoolery of the intertwining and dramatics would take place as much as people striving to be the best version of themselves and the best version of anybody as EC3 as the Worlds Heavyweight Champion.”

EC3 defeated Tyrus for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at the NWA 75 event in a Bull Rope Match, with the added stipulation that Tyrus would be forced to retire if he lost.
