According to PWInsider, the finish to Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix for the AEW International Championship did not go planned as expected.
During his Dynamite recap, Wrestleview’s Alex Kahrs noted that a weird shoulder up led to the pin being stopped, only for Fenix to hit another pile-driver for the pin and the win the match, to become the new International Champion.
PWInsider also notes that Moxley was checked by doctors for a long time before sitting up and walking out after the match. It is being said backstage, the belief is Moxley may have suffered a concussion. Furthermore, PWInsider notes that Moxley was supposed to retain the International Championship, but AEW had to improvise when it was discovered Mox was injured.
