Tonight on AEW Dynamite, Sting was presented his “special gift” from Tony Khan…in the form of the Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair, making his first appearance in All Elite Wrestling.
Flair, who had been a big part of Sting’s early career in the NWA and WCW, spoke on the history the two men had before giving the Icon kudos for his work over the years.
This was cut short by a confrontation from TNT Champion Christian Cage, running down the Nature Boy before issuing a challenge to Sting and Darby Allin for Full Gear.
Sting announced last week that Revolution 2024 would mark the end of his career, something that Flair noted in offering to “ride the wave” with him until that point.
Flair last competed in the titular match of the PPV event Ric Flair’s Last Match in May 2022, but has been back and forth about whether or not he would wrestle again after he felt the match could’ve played out better.
Sting and Flair were last in a ring together in a match on the September 15, 2011 edition of IMPACT Wrestling.
