Additional details on NXT moving to The CW

As previously reported, NXT will be moving to The CW in October 2024. More details have emerged regarding the new deal between WWE and The CW.

According to PWInsider, a broadcast source has said the new deal with The CW is worth roughly $35 to $37 million per year for five-years. While not confirmed, the belief is that WWE has been getting $15 million per year from NBCUniversal for NXT.

The report also notes the plan is for NXT to continue to run live on a weekly basis, but with taped episodes whenever applicable. WWE is said to be open to discussions on airing NXT other than Tuesday night’s.

As of now the belief is that NXT will continue to air live from the Performance Center. However, internally WWE is open to holding NXT television outside of Orlando, if the “financials made sense.” A source told PWInsider, WWE isn’t there yet.

PWInsider also notes that Dave Marquez’s United Wrestling Network with a live weekly series was seen as possibility. However, WWE “came into the picture strong 4 to 6 weeks ago”, with having conversations likely before that time period.
