WWE and MLW reportedly reach settlement in 2022 lawsuit

A report from PWInsider has indicated that WWE filed a Notice of Settlement with the United States District Court California Northern District, in regards to the lawsuit filed by MLW in 2022.

The court has ordered a hearing on 1/24 for the two sides to discuss the settlement, with a due date of 1/18 for a “status of settlement efforts” that could, essentially, automatically cancel the hearing if filed.

MLW originally filed the lawsuit against WWE in January 2022, with an amendment filed in March 2023, claiming WWE engaged in “predatory conduct” that prevented MLW to “compete in the licensing of its programming for distribution on streaming services.”

This stems from a deal between MLW and REELZ that seemingly fell through after the latter announced a distribution deal with NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock, which currently has an agreement with WWE.
