Backstage health update on AEW’s Kenny Omega

As previously reported, AEW EVP Kenny Omega is currently out indefinitely dealing with diverticulitis.

Fightful Select is reporting that even though Omega was just hospitalized, he had began to feel ill prior to his match with Ethan Page on the 12/9 Collison. It was also said Omega did not let many backstage know at the time that he was not feeling well.

The report also said that during the 12/13 episode of Dynamite, Omega’s condition worsened.

Immediately following last Wednesday’s Dynamite, Omega went to the hospital to get medical attention. Last Thursday, per the doctors, Omega was admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with diverticulitis.

It was further noted that several people who who saw Omega backstage at Wednesday’s Dynamite said they he did not look well. He was trying to work through everything and to do his best in the talking segment with himself, Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Ricky Starks.

The report concluded by stating the tag team title match with Omega and Jericho challenging Big Bill and Ricky Starks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships is of course not happening at Worlds End as originally planned.

There is no current timeline as to when Omega will return. For now he has been removed from all current creative plans.
