Axios has reported that a meeting took place between Warner Bros. Discover CEO David Zaslav and Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish on 12/19, with talks of a potential merger on the table.
According to the report, the meeting took place at Paramount’s headquarters in Times Square with discussions of how the two companies could complement one another, particularly with a merge of their respective streaming services.
It is noted that the talks between the two companies are still early, and may not ultimately result in a deal.
However, the possible merger would result in further industry consolidation in the midst of AEW’s continued media rights deals and speculation of WWE selling the media rights to RAW to WBD.
