Triple H announces ‘New Year’s Revolution’ SmackDown for 1/5

Triple H took to social media to help unveil WWE New Year’s Knockout Week across USA Network, Peacock, and FOX.

The week includes the previously-announced Day 1 edition of RAW, NXT New Year’s Evil, The Best of The Bump 2023, The Best of WWE 2023, WWE Preview Special 2024, and the newly-announced New Year’s Revolution edition of SmackDown.

Per Fightful, no matches have been made official as of time of writing for the show.

WWE New Year’s Revolution was previously a pay-per-view event exclusive to the RAW brand from 2005 to 2007.

The first two PPV events featured the Elimination Chamber match, with 2006 most notable for Edge cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on John Cena after that match came to a close, going on to win the WWE Championship.

This was later followed by a short run of live events in early 2020 using the name, though the March 15, 2020 event was canceled with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic.
