Tony Khan addresses WWE/WBD talks: “It’s part of sports”

In an interview with News 4 Jacksonville, Tony Khan promoted the upcoming Dynamite Homecoming show from Daily’s Place on 1/10.

The AEW president was asked about recent reports that representatives from WWE met with Warner Bros. Discovery, to which Khan responded:

“It’s part of sports. I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature. I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year. So, there will certainly be a lot of opportunities.

We’ve had a great history with Warner Bros. Discovery and continue to produce great ratings, so I think we’ll be in a very good position next year.”

Warner Bros. Discovery has been AEW’s broadcast partners since 2019, with what was then WarnerMedia initially signing a five-year deal for Dynamite and following up with deals for Rampage and Collision.

As of time of writing, the new media rights deal for WWE RAW has not been formally announced.
