Following news of a lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon on 1/25, TKO Group has issued a statement to Variety on the allegations of sexual and emotional abuse against Vince McMahon, who serves as executive chairman on the TKO board.
In the statement, a spokesperson for the company said:
Mr. McMahon does not control TKO nor does he oversee the day-to-day operations of WWE. While this matter predates our TKO executive team’s tenure at the company, we take Ms. Grant’s horrific allegations very seriously and are addressing this matter internally.
WWE merged with UFC under the banner of Endeavor, becoming TKO Group Holdings in April 2023 on route to the deal being finalized that September.
McMahon took on the new executive role after stepping down as CEO of WWE, in light of an investigation by the board into allegations of sexual misconduct.
