Kevin Kelly reportedly is gone from AEW.
Per F4WOnline and PWTorch, Kelly has been fired by AEW. Kelly had been an announcer for Collision since the show premiered back on June 17, 2023.
On Thursday, Kelly was removed from AEW’s roster page. According to the report from F4WOnline, the situation was an “an internal matter.”
Kelly started off as Collision’s lead play-by-play announcer and then was replaced by Tony Schiavone last October, with a three-man announce team with Schiavone, Kelly and Nigel McGuinness. Kelly did not work Thursday night’s Collision TV taping.
Kelly made several posts on his X account this past weekend that he had been benched in AEW due to being “libeled” by Ian, which is believed to be ROH play-by-play announcer Ian Riccaboni.
Per the report from F4WOnline, last August, Riccaboni made posts on a Discord server that mentioned Kelly promoting “QAnon movies” (referencing Kelly’s public support of the movie Sound of Freedom). It was also said Riccaboni later admitted the Discord posts were made by him, but said he did not know how Discord worked. Riccaboni further said he should have read up on what was public and what was private, but still had no regrets about the posts.
