Judge recuses himself from criminal case against former WWE star

In the latest development in the criminal case against Ted DiBiase Jr., Mississippi Southern District Court’s Judge Carlton W. Reeves has recused himself for reasons unknown as of time of writing.

Because of this, the jury trial against the former WWE star has now been pushed back from July 16, 2024 to January 7, 2025.

DiBiase Jr. was arrested in April 2023 on charges related to wire fraud and theft, in regards to welfare programs in the state that received federal funds.

If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of five years in prison for the count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, 20 years maximum for each count of wire fraud, and 10 years max for each count of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds.
