On the 4/10 edition of AEW Dynamite, the company aired security footage from a backstage incident at All In.
The footage, which was omitted from AEW’s video covering the segment, ran for less than two minutes and showed CM Punk and Jack Perry having an argument, which quickly turned into a shoving contest before wrestlers and staff alike stepped in to intervene.
Multiple accounts on social media posted the footage on its own, only for their videos to be taken down due to copyright.
Conflicting reports have since come out regarding the use of the footage on the show, with PW Torch reporting the Young Bucks were “not in favor” of airing it only for Fightful to confirm they were fine with the angle.
According to Fightful Select, most of the reactions from AEW were otherwise tepid with many saying they knew it was a “one-night ratings ploy.”
There was, however, a general sense from AEW talent that the use of the footage could have added to the build for Dynasty, particularly the AEW World Tag Team Championship match between The Young Bucks and FTR.
Reaction from WWE’s side seems to indicate that while plenty of people were talking about the situation, there was no “heat” on CM Punk, per Fightful.
