Kevin Owens not ‘taking anything for granted’ as WWE contract nears end

In an interview with Metro.co.uk in Lyon prior to WWE Backlash, Kevin Owens revealed that his contract with the company is set to expire soon.

On looking back on recent events and looking to make the most of his time left, Owens stated:

“I really don’t take anything for granted, I’ve nine months left on my contact, and I don’t know what can happen from here on out.”

Despite the introspection on his life and career, the former WWE Universal Champion made it clear he has no plans to leave the company of his own accord anytime soon.

“This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.”

Owens signed a developmental deal with the company in 2014, becoming a fixture of NXT before being called up to the main roster in a notable feud with John Cena.
