Fightful Select has reported that WWE has expressed a renewed interest in signing Hikuleo, following the end of his run in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The brother of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, both of whom signed with WWE, recently competed at New Japan’s Dominion event, where he and El Phantasmo lost the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship in a four-way elimination tornado match.
A previous report noted that Hikuleo’s contract with the company would expire in June 2024, following an extension made in the midst of an informal hiring freeze within WWE halting discussions in January 2023.
